Mon- 5 easy 39 minutes
I was very very sore after the hard 10 miler the day before. I pretty much hobbled the whole run.
Tues- 11 easy
Still very sore today! I was able to walk a little more normal through out the day, but my quads were still killing it me. Ran a nice easy 11 with Abbey. Ran into lakeport to go around Lake Opeechee, a run we used to do all the time for an easy 5. It was still a nice easy run only now it's 11. We didn't get out the door until 8:30 or so, and were struck by how weird we felt being out there, going out for 11 miles when the rest of the town was sitting down to watch tv, or relax for the night.
Wed- 7 easy
Still sore! It's actually getting a lot better, but I definitely still feel my legs. I've just been trying to run whatever my legs feel like running this week as far as pace goes, but today I had some stretches where I was moving right along and feeling pretty good. I was thinking maybe I'd do a 30 60 90 at some point this week, but now that we're getting dumped on I'll probably just continue to do easy runs for the rest of the week.
Thurs- 6 easy
Finally the soreness has gone away. Today we had a huge snow storm so I'm happy to have gotten anything in at all. I shoveled twice, went snowboarding for the afternoon and got 6 miles in, I had an active day.
Friday- 6 easy am. Just trying to make sure I got it in. I'm glad I did too, because I got home late from work, and I really don't wanna go now. I was thinking about doubling, but now I'm just glad I got a run in already.
The two snow runs, between last night and this morning, were pretty hard on my hamstrings and glutes, my butt has been killing me all day long. I guess this has just been a sore week.
Sat-0 went snowboarding all day. Meant to get a run in when we got back, but I wound up getting called in to work for the night, so I had to head right down there after dinner.
Sun-0 Working on the house all day.
Total: Well this week turned out a little easier than I wanted, but I think I needed one, I was hurting pretty bad most of the week. Now I'll be ready to get back to work over the next few weeks.
You might have been smart to take a down week after Amherst man. Several of us are still hurting/tired even now. Hope your week is going well. It's time to rev it up for New Bedford. PR potential for you!
ReplyDeleteDude, I'm not racing New Bedford, I feel bad with so few people running, but I just need more work. I wanna be ready to run with our team mates before I have the team pay for a GP entry for me again. So hopefully I'm ready to race by the 12k.
