Monday- Went to the gym and all the treadmills were taken. I had to use the elliptical. I did that for "3 miles" according to the machine, then biked for a while before going swimming. Very slippery out and dark by the time i got out of work, so the gym was the only option.
Tuesday- Hard 6 am. Easy 6 pm Weirs Boulevard from the house. I tried to make this run a little bit harder today, so i just pushed hard enough to make it hurt a little, felt good and the run went by quickly. no watch so I don't know the time, which probably isn't a bad thing. Ran again with Abbey in the evening, just an easy 6 but with some good hard hills.
Wednesday- 5 ran at the UNH track, ran into an old track coach and wound up doing some intervals with him right around 6 minute pace, then doing a set of 4 400's by myself afterwards. the 4's were 73 72 73 72. I didn't realize how hard I ran yesterday, until I started trying to go fast today and felt like bricks. Meant to get a little more running in today, but it was nice to catch up with Coach Green.
Thursday- 8 miles am, 6 miles pm. I ran in the morning by myself down in Durham just nice and easy. In the evening I did another 6 with Abbey and Tucker. Slipped on some ice at one point, and slid straight out on my back. I was lucky to take most of it on my elbow, rather than my hip or head.
Friday- Long day at work, rain when I got home. No run, pussy.
Saturday- Easy 10. Ran in Laconia with Abbey and an old friend Alex Hilson.
Sunday- Hard 6 miles 36:13. Ran Weirs Boulevard, good run with some rolling hills.
Week total- 47 mi in 5 days with one day of cross training. Better week, lets hope I keep it up next week.

Week Ending 1/22
Monday- 7 in the snow on the liberty hill trails with Tucker. The snow was good and hard and crusty, so it was good running. Later on I ran another 3 on the treadmill at the gym.
Tuesday- 7 on liberty hill with tucker. It was raining this day, and the snow was soft and slippery, much tougher run than the day before.
Wednesday- big fat 0. It was cold and windy and I pussed out.
Thursday- 5 on the treadmill after work.
Friday-0. another pussy day.
Saturday- Nordic skiing for about 30 minutes.
Sunday- 0. work all day.
Total- 22 miles. Someone slap me in the face, and run some miles with me. Next week will be better I promise.

Week Ending 1/15
Monday- 9 miles. Ran a work out on the golf course at the Laconia Country Club with Tucker and Abbey. Decided on a loop that felt like about 900 meters we did 5 repeats I was 3:12, 3:16 (opposite direction), 3:12, 3:07, 3:02. The work out felt pretty good, I was working good and hard by the end. I know it had to be longer than 800 cause there was no way I was going slower than 5:40 pace.
Tuesday- 5 miles. Ran on the treadmill at the club. I hate those things. After I ran I went downstairs and did some lifting, then went and swam 300 yards. It's so funny how I can run 5 miles and feel like a bum, then I go and swim only 300 yards and my arms are toast afterwards.
Wednesday- 6 miles. At the Country Club with Abbey and Tucker. We were both feeling lazy so we just decided to keep the run short.
Thursday- 0.
Friday- 5 miles. treadmill at the club. Swimming afterwards.
Saturday-0
sunday-0
Total 25 miles. Bad week.

Week Ending 1/7
Mon- Easy 10 miles out on the Liberty Hill trails with Abbey and Tucker. Wanted to walk at the beginning of Hoadley Rd, and then decided I needed to toughen up and ran the whole thing good and hard.
Tues- 5 miles. I ran at the gym on a treadmill for the first time in ages. We did a few miles on a treadmill in the hotel the night before Cape Cod, but other than that I haven't done any real treadmill running since being at Keene, where I would usually struggle to reach five miles. I got through the 5 miles pretty easily while playing with the pace buttons the whole time. at one point when I turned it up to the top speed of 6 minute pace the treadmill broke down and wouldn't start again so I had to switch to another treadmill. After we finished our run we went downstairs to do some lifting and found more serious treadmills down there. I was happy to find that these ones got down to 5 min pace and were much quieter and solid feeling than the ones upstairs. Did I mention that we just started a trial membership at this gym? Anyway we did a quick core routine and some free weights. About 10 minutes in the weight room and I could definitely feel it the next day.
Wednesday- 9 miles steady. Ran on the Liberty Hill trails with Tucker. I tried to keep myself rolling the whole time on this run, never killing it, never making myself hurt, but I just wanted to be sure that I was going a little quicker. at about 5 miles into this run there is a big hill that doesn't ease up for about a mile, when I got to the top today I decided I should do it again, so I ran down to the bottom and went back up a little harder. It was a good day, but a little cold.
Thursday- 15 miles. I ran the Bay Rd. loop with Scott McGrath. This was pretty tough, mostly cause it was my longest run since the marathon. Also the pace was a little quicker than what I'm used to running with Abbey. Good run, Felt pretty tired from the day before through the early miles, loosened up and felt good for about 3 or four miles, then just started to feel tired for the last 3 or 4 miles. Good long run.
Friday- 7 miles. Ran on the Liberty Hill trails. Went very slow and easy, we had gotten a bit of snow which made it difficult cause it hid the ice. Very sore.
Saturday- 0. worked all day.
Sunday- 11 miles easy with Alex Hilson, Andy Mercer, and Abbey.
Total- 57. This was a good week. Finally.

Week Ending 1/1 + Millenium Mile
Mon-10 miles easy. I ran a nice 10 mile with Abbey. After a nice day off yesterday, we were both moving right along today. Felt great being out there, but got a bit tired toward the end of the run.
Tues-0 planned on running in the morning but wound up with only an hour between programs instead of two.
Wed- 5 miles squeezed in before work with Abbey. Hilly run.
Thurs- 5 miles hill work out with Abbey. We meant to do a little more work out than this but I think we were both feeling lazy. we ran to a hill not far from my parents house and did three repeats on it, the hill is probably a bit short of half a mile. It was a pretty easy work out but at least it went well. Here's my splits. 2:51, 2:39, 2:21 that last one the arms went numb the last 150m or so.
Friday- 0 work all day
Saturday-0 work all day
Sunday-5 Millenium mile. I haven't been down to the millenium mile since my freshman year of college, and it was nice to see they'd moved the registration and race headquarters to the much larger highschool auditorium. Abbey and I came down together and were just hoping to have fun, as neither of us have been doing lots of speed. After registration we saw Najem and Hammett and headed out to start a longer warm up. we got in about a mile and did some stretching before doing another 20 minutes before the race. I was feeling pretty nervous even though I was trying to take a pretty relaxed approach to the race. I got in lots of good strides before the gun went off and ran into some CMS masters in Scott Clark and Tim Cox. The gun went off and I tried to get out, but stay relaxed, I went out around 67 or 68 for the first 400 which I thought was probably a little too fast. I tried to relax on the next 400, and then at 800 Cox went by me so I surged and was able to catch him. When I saw the 3/4 mark I thought I was in good shape and started surging, by the time I passed the 400 meter I would hit the wall and felt like I was dragging it in. Tim Cox went by me with about 200 to go and I just couldn't do anything. I managed a 4:33 and a 19th place finish. I was pretty happy with the race. Great time seeing a bunch of running friends after limited racing over the past couple months.
Week total: 25 I meant to run more, but worked 60 hours in addition to finishing up a bunch of remodeling on the house, so I've been busy and I'm just happy enough to have gotten some runs in and a quality race.
